Diabetes is the most potentially devastating – and fastest-growing – health crisis of our time
There are currently 4 million people in the UK living with diabetes, and 11.5 million more at increased risk of getting Type 2 diabetes. Those diagnosed face the risk of life-changing, and life-limiting, complications, unless they are given the very best care and the support they need to manage their condition well.
At the Basingstoke Diabetes UK Support Group you will find a hardworking and tremendously encouraging group of volunteers who have all been affected by diabetes, either directly or through helping and supporting a relative or friend living with diabetes.
Our purpose is to help each other self-manage our condition the best way that we can. This includes sharing ideas and experience, putting each other in touch with the relevant care providers and inviting experts to share their knowledge with us so that we are better informed and equipped to meet our day-to-day challenges and successes!
